Know about the Chief Minister Arogya Arunachal Yojana (CMAAY)
The healthcare industry today is an advanced sector which is well-equipped to support timely detection and management of a vast range of diseases and health complications. However, not every individual in our society can afford the best of treatments due to financial hardships. In order to mitigate the same, the state Govt of Arunachal Pradesh launched the Chief Minister Arogya Arunachal Yojana – which is designed to aid the less fortunate members of the society in receiving quality medical care services.
What is Chief Minister Arogya Arunachal Yojana (CMAAY)?
CMAAY is a state flagship program launched in the year 2018 and dovetailed with Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. It is a scheme that ensures financial assistance to the indigenous community of Arunachal Pradesh, launched by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Shri Pema Khandu, under the aegis of the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, and supported by the Chief Minister Arogya Arunachal Society. Chief Minister Arogya Arunachal Yojana aims to cover 100% healthcare for all by the year 2030.
Purpose of Chief Minister Arogya Arunachal Yojana
The main objective of CMAAY is:
- To reduce the financial hardship on people of the state when it comes to seek treatment for diseases and hospitalization.
- To facilitate assured access to quality healthcare for all bonafide citizens of the state.
- To provide quality health care benefits for State Government employees and their dependents.
- To make the public health system efficient, effective and self-reliant by enabling ‘claim refund’ processes to individual Govt. Hospital accounts.
- Fulfil the secondary and tertiary health care gap in the state.
Who is CMAAY for?
CMAAY primarily caters to the poor tribal families of the region, who need medical attention and care. The end purpose here is to facilitate quality and cashless health care services to the indigenous people of the state as well as the Government employees, to reduce Out of Pocket (OOP) expenses during major illness & hospitalization.
Beneficiaries covered under CMAAY are:
- Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe(APST) members
- Non-APST residents of Changlang, Lohit, and Namsai possessing Resident Certificate(RC) who are people with permanent land holding documents
- State Govt. Employees and their dependents
Benefits of Chief Minister Arogya Arunachal Yojana
– Cashless transaction to the Beneficiary right from his/her admission at a hospital, with up to 10 days of medical expenses covered after discharge.
– Pre-existing diseases are covered under the scheme.
– Up to Rs 5 Lakhs per family per year, cashless treatment in case of hospitalizations.
– Pre-hospitalization for up to 3 days and post-hospitalization for up to 10 days are covered for all medicines and diagnostic tests for the same ailment/surgery.
– Some super specialty hospitals outside of the State have also been empaneled for certain critical case treatments.
– Every empaneled hospital associated with this scheme has a dedicated staff equipped with IT kits to assist patients with registration, preauthorization and claim processing activities through a digital platform.
Eligibility for CMAAY
- Belonging to any of the tribal communities that are recognised by the state.
- One must be legally residing in Arunachal Pradesh. People who are enrolled in the Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe (APST) are directly eligible for CMAAY benefits.
- One ought to have employment with the state government. In this situation, the insurance program’s benefits are also available to their dependents.
- One must have a resident certificate proving they own property in Changlang, Lohit, or Namsai and must be a member of one of the backward communities.
How to avail CMAAY?
One can self-register using the mobile app- Arogya Arunachal app which can be downloaded from the play store or visit: www.cmaay.com, the Chief Minister Arogya Arunachal Yojana (CMAAY) website and enrol by following the process.
Documents required are:
Aadhaar Card along with the following documents:
- For APST: APST certificate
- For Non-APST but bonafide members of Lohit, Namsai & Changlang districts: holding Resident Certificate (RC) issued by Competent Authority.
- For State Government employees: Government ID card issued by competent Authority – Dependent of State Government employees/RC holders should produce any legal document
Achievements of Chief Minister Arogya Arunachal Yojana so far
As of 11 October 2022, the number of beneficiaries enrolled under Chief Minister Arogya Arunachal Yojana is 5,37,967 (according to Chief Minister’s Dashboard).
- More than 57 public hospitals and 33 private sector hospitals have been empaneled under the scheme and continue to add more institutions.
According to data collected: (as on 11th October 2022)
- About 13910 pre-authorizations were generated.
- About a total of Rs 3312.57 Lakhs claims were settled.
- About a total of Rs 3848.33 Lakhs pre-authorization amount request was raised.
