Shivamogga Smart City – Consultation with Citizens of Shivamogga City

From September 20’ 2015 till October 10’ 2015, Shivamogga City Corporation conducted consultations to reach all segments of the citizens as listed below,
- Citizen Sensitization and Consultations Held with various groups:
- Political Leaders (MPs, MLAs, MLCs, Corporators)
- All Industrial Chambers & Chambers of Commerce: 26 Associations
- Ward Level Meetings in presence of Political Leaders: 35 nos. of Wards
- Engineering Colleges: 2 nos.
- Medical Colleges: 2 nos.
- Veterinary College
- Other Colleges: 6 nos.
- Doctors: Indian Medical Association
- Religious Groups & Other Groups, Political Party Offices: 10 nos.

Consultations were led by MP, MLA, Mayor,Commissioner;City Municipal Councilors and Smart City Consultantswith a view of inviting suggestions from citizens of Shivamogga.
Citizens were given briefing about the concept and presented the city mapping, so that they can view city at glance and can give creative/innovative suggestions to make their city smart.
A booklet containing information about the mission and citizen engagement process was also distributed, along with a questionnaire survey which captures suggestions of the people.

Government should implement technologies like 3D printing to construct huge structures, which would save time and yield higher efficiency, this technique is already being implemented in some parts of China.
