Winner announcement for Short Animation Film Contest on 75 years of Indian Independence

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting along with the National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC) organised a Short Animation Film Contest to Celebrate 75 years of Indian Independence and the theme of the competition was “India @75”.

The contest went live on 29th December, 2021 and ended on 11th April, 2022 The contest was hosted on the MyGov.in website for receiving the entries. Entries were open only for 2D/3D animated short films with a duration of maximum 3 minutes each.

The theme of the competition was India @ 75. The Central Idea was to develop an animated character with the name Arya (masculine आर्य ārya) or Aryaa(feminine, आर्या āryā) Bharat (masculine) or Bharati(feminine). The films were based around this central character having either of the names above.

The competition was opened to entries from Citizens of India and all parts of India and in any one of the 22 official Indian languages with transcript in Hindi  or English.

There were around 691 entries received from all over the country of which all the valid entries(Submitted 2D/3D animated film of upto 3mins) were accepted for shortlisting. Eminent personalities formed the Jury and arrived at the Winners shortlist after careful scrutiny and 2 winners were finalized in the 2D Animation Category of the animated short film competition. No entries in the 3D category were found suitable for the prize from amongst the entries received.

Both first and Second winners will be awarded with Prize money by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
