Winner Announcement for Mascot Making Competition for Adoption Awareness Month 2025

December 31, 2025

The Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA), Ministry of Women and Child Development, proudly celebrates the spirit of creativity, compassion, and inclusivity showcased through the Mascot Making Competition for Adoption Awareness Month 2025.

Observed every year in November, Adoption Awareness Month aims to sensitize society about legal and ethical adoption, reinforcing the belief that every child deserves to grow up in a loving, safe, and nurturing family environment. This year, CARA, in collaboration with MyGov India, reached out to citizens across the country to creatively engage with the cause of adoption of children with special needs (Divyaang children).

Creative Expression with a Purpose

The Mascot Making Competition invited participants to design a mascot that symbolizes love, care, protection, inclusivity, and hope, while also challenging prevailing myths and misconceptions around the adoption of children with special needs. Participants were encouraged to conceptualize characters that resonate with people of all ages and genders—simple, memorable, and emotionally impactful.

The themes of the competition reflected CARA’s child-centric and family-based approach:

  • Non-institutionalised rehabilitation of children with special needs (Divyaang children)
  • Every Child Deserves a Loving Family
  • Special Parenting for Children with Special Needs
  • #EveryChildMatters

The response was overwhelming. From 1st October 2025 to 30th November 2025, citizens from all across India participated enthusiastically, submitting thoughtful and inspiring mascot designs that beautifully captured the essence of adoption awareness and inclusivity. The contest received the participation of 421 entries.
