A Leap Towards Healthcare Excellence: Infrastructure Advancements at TRIHMS, Naharlagun
Arunachal Pradesh is witnessing a transformative phase in its healthcare infrastructure, with significant upgrades at Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (TRIHMS), Naharlagun. These advancements are a testament to the government’s commitment to enhancing essential services and providing top-notch healthcare facilities to the people of the state.
In a notable development, Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Pema Khandu recently inaugurated a newly upgraded drinking water supply project at TRIHMS. This state-of-the-art system has seen its capacity increase from a modest 2 lakh litres per day to an impressive 19 lakh litres per day, ensuring a reliable and consistent water supply for both patients and staff. This project symbolizes the government’s unwavering dedication to improving the quality of life for its citizens by focusing on critical infrastructure.
TRIHMS has also become the proud host of India’s first AI-based smart parking system. Inaugurated by CM Khandu, this fully automated system, the first of its kind in the country, features an innovative design with four towers capable of accommodating 72 vehicles. This upgrade offers a much-needed solution to the parking woes in Itanagar, particularly at TRIHMS, and is another step towards modernizing the state’s healthcare facilities.
Further cementing the government’s focus on healthcare, CM Khandu announced the proposal for super specialty facilities at TRIHMS, the only medical college hospital in the state. He reiterated that health remains one of the government’s top priorities, highlighted by the approval of a State Cancer Institute to be established at Midpu near Doimukh in Papum Pare district. The tender process for the construction has been fast-tracked, with expectations of work commencing soon.
These initiatives represent a significant leap towards healthcare excellence in Arunachal Pradesh. By bolstering infrastructure and introducing cutting-edge technology, the state is laying a strong foundation for a resilient and robust healthcare system that will serve its people for generations to come.
