Announcing the selection of 76 Startups under India Water Pitch- Pilot- Scale Challenge 2022
In line with the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs launched the India Water Pitch-Pilot-Scale Startup Challenge under AMRUT 2.0 on 12th March 2022 on MyGov platform (https://innovateindia.mygov.in/all-past-initiatives/). It aims to empower startups in the water/ used-water sector to grow through innovation and design that will drive sustainable economic growth and generate employment opportunities. The challenge saw 222 entries from the startups working in the field of Fresh water systems, Hydro informatics, Used water management, Urban Water Management, Agricultural Water Management, Urban Sewerage Management, Water governance and Innovation in conventional taps and plumbing systems. The startups were then screened and technically evaluated by an Expert Committee. Out of the 222 entries/ applications received, 76 startups were shortlisted and selected on the recommendation of Expert Committee. MoHUA has organized a “City- Startup Partnership Summit for water security” on 9th September 2022 at Vigyan Bhawan, where Hon’ble Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs and Petroleum & Natural Gas, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, will officially announce the name of the selected Startups.
Further, Ministry is planning to extend the above challenge under the name “Startup Gateway” which is proposed to be launched on 9th September, 2022. It is envisaged to be a perpetual City-Startup Partnership wherein every six month applications will be evaluated and shortlisted.
