Arunachal on the Rise, A Cleaner, Safer, and More Adventurous Future

Arunachal Pradesh is making waves nationally with a string of remarkable achievements across diverse sectors such as urban sanitation, tourism, and maternal welfare. These milestones are more than individual successes; together, they reflect the state’s firm resolve towards inclusive development, sustainability, and the well-being of its citizens.
Jairampur Declared a ‘Promising Swachh Shehar’
In a proud moment for the people of Jairampur and the state at large, the town has been declared a ‘Promising Swachh Shehar’ in the latest National Cleanliness Survey, securing the State-Level Swachh Survekshan Award 2024–25 under this category. The award was presented in recognition of Jairampur’s commendable performance in the national Swachh Survekshan assessment conducted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, as part of its ongoing efforts under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) to promote cleanliness and sanitation across the country.
The award ceremony was held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, in the presence of the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, Union Minister Manohar Lal, and other dignitaries.
The recognition celebrates the dedication of the local administration, civic bodies, and residents who have worked tirelessly to transform Jairampur into a model of public hygiene and waste management. From innovative waste segregation drives to community-based cleanliness campaigns, the efforts in Jairampur stand as a blueprint for small towns across the country aiming to create livable and sustainable urban spaces.
Arunachal Tourism Bags Top National Honour
On the tourism front, Arunachal Pradesh has added another feather to its cap by winning the Best Adventure Destination Award at the prestigious India International Travel Mart (IITM) 2025. As India’s premier travel and tourism exhibition, IITM recognizes destinations that offer unique and immersive experiences. Arunachal’s diverse landscape, rich tribal heritage, and untamed natural beauty make it an unbeatable adventure hotspot.
This award not only cements Arunachal’s position as the adventure capital of Northeast India but also opens new opportunities for eco-tourism, rural entrepreneurship, and community-led tourism models. It is a reflection of the state’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainable travel while preserving its ecological and cultural heritage.
Arunachal’s PMMVY Success
Development is most meaningful when it reaches the last mile, and Arunachal has proven its commitment to this principle yet again. In a major achievement, Anjaw and Pakke-Kessang districts have secured the top two national rankings in enrollment under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY). This flagship scheme of the Ministry of Women and Child Development provides financial assistance to pregnant and lactating mothers, helping improve their nutritional well-being and ensuring safe motherhood.
The high enrollment figures are not just statistics; they represent effective governance, robust grassroots implementation, and the success of frontline workers who serve as the bridge between the government and the people. Through targeted awareness campaigns, door-to-door outreach, and simplified digital enrollment, these districts have demonstrated how collective effort can yield transformative outcomes.
This recognition under PMMVY reflects Arunachal’s broader focus on maternal and child health—a crucial pillar in the journey toward inclusive, equitable, and people-centric development.
A State Moving Forward, Together
From the recognition of Jairampur as a ‘Promising Swachh Shehar’ to Arunachal’s national spotlight as the Best Adventure Tourism Destination, and the exemplary performance of Anjaw and Pakke-Kessang in maternal welfare, these achievements are not isolated triumphs. They are powerful indicators of a state moving forward with vision, resolve, and collective spirit.
Each milestone reflects a different facet of Arunachal’s developmental journey. What binds them together is a shared commitment to inclusive growth, local empowerment, and resilient governance.
