Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Initiatives by Directorate of Information Technology, Govt of Tripura

As part of the 75-week-long  Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM), the Directorate of Information Technology (DIT), Government of Tripura undertook various activities to showcase the achievements of the State and celebrated the contributions of the citizens. Events included small-scale to large-scale targeted at start-ups/ entrepreneurs, government employees and common citizens.

1st year of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (15th August 2021 to 31st August, 2022)

During 1st year of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, DIT undertook seven events, which saw the participation of approximately 680 citizens. The events were as follows:

Event 1: Azadi ka Amrit Digital Mahotsav celebrations under Digital India Program.

CSC Tripura celebrated Azadi ka Amrit Digital Mahotsav under the Digital India Program on 2nd December 2021. The event saw the participation of 100 Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) out of which a few top-performing VLEs were awarded.

Event 2: Online Slogan Writing Contest

DIT hosted an online slogan writing contest on the MyGov platform for common citizens between 1st January 2022 to 18th January 2022. The event’s theme was the 50th Anniversary of Tripura’s Statehood.

Event 3: Online Drawing Contest

DIT hosted an online drawing contest on the MyGov platform for common citizens between 1st January, 2022 to 18th January, 2022. The event’s theme was the 50th Anniversary of Tripura’s Statehood.

Event 4: Workshop on Tripura Start-up Ecosystem

DIT hosted a workshop on “Tripura Start-up Ecosystem” in association with NASSCOM on 30th March 2022 at Pragya Bhavan at Agartala. The goal was to create awareness among start-ups about the investment, funding organization, service provider, working culture, funding procedure, etc.

Event 5: Showcasing achievements and other facilities provided to citizens at the 32nd Tripura Industry & Commerce Fair 2022

The DIT took part in the 32nd Tripura Industry & Commerce Fair, 2022 conducted at International Fair Ground and Exhibition Centre, Hapania, Tripura (West) from 7th March to 17th March 2022. At the event attended by approximately 300 people, the DIT showcased its achievements and other facilities provided to citizens like Tripura Start-up policies, CM Helpline, CSC, etc. 7 registered Start-ups had promoted their products.

Event 6: The training programme on Social Media & Mobile Governance

A two-day training programme was hosted from 2nd to 3rd August 2022. It was attended by 40 government officials and employees from various departments. The sessions focused on various social media and mobile applications and how they can be used by government departments. Social engineering, social media threats, information security, best social media practices and mobile governance practices were also discussed.

Event 7: The training programme on Procurement in eGovernance

A three-day training programme was hosted from 4th to 6th August 2022, attended by 40 government officials from various State Govt. departments. The sessions focused on procurement in e-governance projects, request for proposal, cost components, business model development for e-governance projects, service level management, bidder’s view of procurement and role of consultant and contract management.

2nd year of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (16th August 2022 to 15th August, 2023)

During Phase 2 of AKAM, the DIT undertook 13 events, which saw the participation of approximately 1 lakh 96 thousand citizens. The events were as follows:

Event 1: Inauguration of Startup Week (Day1)

Startup Week was inaugurated on 19th October 2022 to boost early-stage start-ups and promote the start-up ecosystem in Tripura. Approximately 1300 people attended the event. Various services and schemes were launched on Day 1 including NGIN Student Products (Chitrika, Algomagnet) of NIT-Agartala, Medi-capp, Career Bichaar and Grosale and more.

Event 2: Startup Week (Day-2): Focusing on Funding sources and venture capital

On Day-2 of Startup Week, a discussion was held on Tripura Startup Venture Capital Fund, Investor Readiness & Importance of Financial Compliance, Early Stage Investments & iSAFE 100X VC, etc.

Event 3: Start-up Week (Day-3): Focusing on Student Entrepreneurship

On Day-3 of Startup Week, a discussion was held on student entrepreneurship, North East Entrepreneurship Development Program, and Govt initiatives & benefits and a panel discussion was held between NGIN College Students and startups of Tripura.

Event 4: A virtual seminar on North East Entrepreneurship Development Program (NEEDP)

A virtual seminar on North East Entrepreneurship Development Program (NEEDP) was hosted on 9th November 2022. Its aim was to assist start-ups towards building sustainable ventures through mentoring, market connections and financial grants.

Event 5: Consumer Protection Awareness Programme (JAGO GRAHAK JAGO) under the Department of Consumer Affairs, Govt. of India by CSC Tripura.

The Jago Grahak Jago awareness programme was conducted from 18th October 2022 to 21st December 2022 via the mobile van. The campaign raised awareness about the consumer protection act 2019, steps for registration of consumer grievances, details to check on every pre-packaged commodity and the Bureau of Indian Standards. It covered 234 spots in the AMC areas of West Tripura including business establishments and market areas. Approximately 1,50,000 people (especially women) participated and gained knowledge via visual displays and printed brochures.

Event 6: One-day Workshop on  Accelerating Startup Calibre & Entrepreneurial Drive (ASCEND) in collaboration with the Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade, Govt. of India

Hosted on 7th December 2022, the one-day workshop focused on translating a business idea into a sustainable business model. Discussions were held on Tripura Startup Venture Capital Fund and Tripura IT/ITeS Policy and its benefits, identifying problems and ideas and taking this into products and commercialization, benefits and incentives provided by Startup India, importance and ways of fostering entrepreneurship in education, ways and importance of marketing products, etc.

Event 7: Mobile Common Service Center Van Inauguration Programme

27 Common Service Mobile Vans were launched on 25th December 2022 for providing G2C, B2C, Banking and Education related services of CSC in rural areas of Tripura. More than 300 people have attended the event.

Event 8: Two Training sessions organized with the resource persons from Degree Colleges on Beneficiary Management Portal (BMS)

Two training sessions were hosted on 23rd and 29th December, 2022 to make the system easy, fast and transparent by enabling beneficiary’s data management and facilitation of DBT for any scheme

Event 9: Orientation Workshop on Information & Cybersecurity

An orientation workshop was held to fight against cyber threats and attacks from 5th to 6th January 2023. Discussions were conducted on the legal framework and IT Act, 2000 and amendments, models and frameworks for information security management, securing business applications, physical, environmental and database security, network security, etc.

Event 10: CSC-LLF(CSC and Learning Link Foundation) Programme on Digital Literacy and Digital Education for School Students and Citizens through mobile Van by CSC, Tripura

The CSC-LLF Programme is an ongoing programme started on 15th January 2022 with the aim to develop core capacities and technology skills among students, teachers and people. Various online and offline workshops are being organised to train school children, college students and youths on Digital Literacy and Digital Education. Approximately 44,000 citizens have been reached through the programme so far.

Event 11: Blockchain Technology Programme

A 2 days training program on blockchain technology was organized by Directorate of Information Technology, Govt. of Tripura in collaboration with National Institute for Smart Government (NISG) from 27th to 28th February, 2023 at IT Bhawan, Ingranagar, Agartala. More than 40 nos. of officials from different State Govt. Dept. have joined the training program. Discussions were conducted on key components of blockchain, blockchain as the new database, blockchain use cases, government use cases, government blocks, etc.

Event 12: Training program on “Cyber Security Audit”

To create awareness on cyber security, a 5 days training program on Cyber Security Audit was organized by Directorate of Information Technology, Govt. of Tripura in collaboration with National Institute for Smart Government (NISG) from 27th March 2023 to 31st March 2023 at IT Bhawan, Ingranagar, Agartala. Cyber experts Mr .Sachin Dedhia  & Mr. Sandeep Mudalkar had trained more than 30 officials from different State govt. Departments on cyber security, audit, testing, vulnerability assessment etc and also hands on training had been provided using security tools.

Event 13: Training program on “Drupal 10”

A 6 days training programme on Drupal 10 was organized by Directorate of Information Technology, Govt. of Tripura in collaboration with National Institute for Smart Government (NISG) from 1st April to 6th April at IT Bhawan, Ingranagar, Agartala. Drupal is content management software. It has various tools to build the versatile, structured content for  websites and applications. More than 30 nos. of software developers including officials from different State Govt. Dept. have joined the training program where hands on training on different functionalities and features of Drupal 10 were provided.
