Citizen’s Success Story:
After the birth of his second child, 33-year-old Shri Vipul Kanjariya from Village – Shanti Nagar, Block – Khambalia, required a birth certificate.
Farmers who reside in the most rural area of Taluka are generally unaware of government processes and procedures. People used to go to the Taluka offices for all of their needs, spending a lot of time and money commuting to these distant Taluka offices.
However, this time Shri Vipul Kanjariya got to know that their Village Panchayat office also offers government services through Digital Seva Setu program. He went to the Panchayat office’s e-Gram centre and met VCE (Village Computer Entrepreneur), who helped him for submitting the birth certificate application online and explained the entire process to him. Additionally, he was told that he could pick up the Birth Certificate directly from the Panchayat office and that will be ready by the end of the day.
As soon as he submitted his application in the Digital Seva Setu portal, he also received an SMS, and later that day, he received another SMS notifying him that his application had been approved and a certificate had been generated. He went to the Panchayat office in the evening and received the “Birth
Certificate” for his child. He expressed his gratitude to the Government of Gujarat for initiating the “Digital Seva Setu” project at village level.
