CITIZENS ENGAGEMENT FOR SMART CITY SHIMLA PROPOSAL

As per the Smart City Mission Guidelines citizens engagement is mandatory activity at all level with respect to preparation of smart city challenge stage 2 proposal. The following activities have been taken by MCS/WAPCOS-OASIS:
– Smart City Meeting of all high level dignitaries on 06.01.2017
– Stakeholders Meeting in Hotel Holiday Home on 13.01.2017
– Citizen forums meeting at rotary town hall on 14.01.2017
– Citizen Engagement Workshop at Press club on 16.01.2017
– Meeting with MPs & MLAs on 18.01.2017
– Citizen Forums Meeting in Hotel Holiday Home 19.01.2017
– Citizen Forums Meeting in Hotel Holiday Home on 21.01.2017
– Ward Sabhas are conducted at each ward from 04.02.2017 to 10.02.2017 (Total 25 wards)
– Smart city kiosks were setup at different locations of the city from 12.01.2017 to 30.01.2017
– WhatsApp Group (Mission Smart Shimla) created for taking suggestions.
– Essay writing competition on “My Dream Shimla” from
– Logo design competition
– Talk on Radio/TV
– Radio Jingles for Mission Smart City Shimla
– Smart city Tableau on Republic Day celebration (26.01.2017)
– Audio/Video/Photographs -Youtube, Facebook, Mygov.in web portal showcasing citizens engagement.
– Site visit conducted including interaction with citizens of Shimla for in-depth understanding of their problem areas to be included in proposal for development
– Mass level publicity for areas for development with smart solutions, suggestions were invited through dynamic and interactive website (missionsmartshimla.com, shimlamc.org), Facebook account/page (Smart city Shimla), twitter account(@smartshimla), emails missionsmartshimla@gmail.com) and MyGov.in web portal.
