Closure Announcement for Swachh Sagar Surakshit Sagar Quiz
Swachh Sagar Surakshit Sagar Quiz was organized by Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India in collaboration with MyGov India to test the basic awareness level of Indian citizens about our coastline, beaches and the science behind its habitat, environment and the negative impact of litter and pollution.
The coastal cleanup drive was carried out at 75 beaches across the country with 75 volunteers for every kilometer of the coastline. The “Swachh Sagar, Surakshit Sagar / Clean Coast Safe Sea“ campaign was a 75-day citizen-led campaign for improving ocean health through collective action. The campaign started on July 5th, 2022 and targeted transformation and environmental conservation through behavior change with the targeted goal of consuming responsibly, segregating waste at home and disposing responsibly. Through this campaign, a mass behavioral change among the masses was intended by raising awareness about how plastic usage is destroying our marine life.
This Quiz was hosted from 29th August 2022 to 17th September 2022. A total of 14,994 citizens across the country participated in this quiz, making it a grand success.
