Conclusion of 75 Lakh Post Card Campaign

India is celebrating the 75th anniversary of Independence. As part of the commemoration, a series of events have been planned under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahatosav by the Government of India to give an opportunity to the young and old to know about the glorious history of India’s people, culture and achievements. Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) is also a tribute to the Freedom Fighters and the Freedom Movement of India.

The Department of Posts (DoP), Ministry of Communication, along with the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, has organised the ‘75 Lakh Post Cards to PM Campaign’ from 01st December to 31st December 2021. Postcards were written on 2 themes- “Unsung heroes of freedom struggle” and “My vision for India in 2047”. The campaign was open for all students from class IV to XII of all schools affiliated to CBSE as well as various state education boards, including all Union Territories, set up in India and abroad.

Key Achievements:

1.75 lakh Postcards to PM Campaign’ as part of the Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav was launched from 01st December to 31st December 2021. The campaign was open for all students of class IV to XII of all schools affiliated to CBSE as well as various state education boards including 2.5 lakh students in CBSE affiliated schools located in foreign countries.

2.More than 1.13 Crores postcards were written by students from over 60000 schools. This includes about 19000 students from 42 schools located overseas.

The 75 Lakhs postcard campaign  is concluded and Some selected entries were discussed by Hon’ble Prime Minister in “Mann Ki Baat ” programme on Sunday 30th January 2022.
