Waste management is the main problem in India. To over come the issue we want to clean the waste from the source. for that we should enhance the present strategy already we following. Major waste are in the public places like bus stand, railway stations. we should place more waste bin to these places. Also place message over the waste bin for publicity. People are asking where should we dump the waste . people should need a place for dump the waste. so first create that other wise they throw it..

SIR Mann Ki Baat-a great revolution program-will change INDIA and will be remembered in coming generations.I observe that smoking and tobacco chewing should be banned in common places especially on road. This will create clean and healthy INDIA.For instance anybody who is driving and all of a sudden he will open the door in running vehicle to spit which promotes unhealthiness and leads to accident also.BHUTAN,a INDIA dependable country also make its country non smoking country then why not we??

This e-book gives an example that people of village areas are now becoming conscious about their health and safety….this is a good beginning .But inspite of constructing toilets people should also take care about the proper usage of toilets and make them clean ..Apart from this still there are many parts of our country where people are not aware .So ,I think not only few parts but each and every part of our country should become aware and contribute equally to develop our nation…

    Mr Modi,

I would like to make a suggestion toward swachh bharat Campaign. Every IAS officer of Govt servant should get involved in swachh bharat initiative, if he has to get promoted to senior level. this would a be motivation for people of work on the campaign.

Similarly IIT and IIM student should do one year of Intern in Swachh Bharat campaign to get their certification

    Respected PM,
On 2nd oct 2014 you started a mass movement of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. I saw in the starting people r very careful about cleanliness but as days r passing they forgot about it. I saw that nothing much has changed about cleanliness. yes some places r clean as before.I suggest u to take more agressive step to stop dirtyness. Please pass a law that if anyone spread dirty he/she will be fine. U said that in 2019 as 150th Mahatma Gandhi birthday we acheive this but u hv to take steps.

Few months ago when I was going to my hometown by train I saw people sitting on and beside the railway tracks for open defecation. That time I was wondering if there’s any way to change it. After reading the eBook I came to know how the situation can be changed. Fasting for two more days, working continuously for about 12 hours to get a toilet. These efforts are quite appreciable and enough to inspire to make India open defecation free.

I visited the wonderful Taj Mahal in July 2015 and was disappointed that even just outside this wonderful site there was no where for waste disposal. I had purchased some chips etc and ehen we finished wieating them could not find a local; waste collection bin to dump the rubbish. When I enquired about this from the local shop keepers – they suggested that I throw the litter on the roadside. Needless to say I did not heed their advice and brought back the litter to dispose in the hotel bin.

The idea of swatch Bharat seems to be an idea only, because ever since this campaign has started the regular sweeper of locality has stopped coming for work. For last eight months there has been on sweeper in the area. The Road is littered. The park is maintained on monthly basis by making a heap of garbage in one corner which is lifted on quarterly basis. The water supply points near community center are filled with garbage, just waiting to enter in water supply and spread cholera.

Respected Sir, I want to suggest that in cities people don’t get dustbins near to them and for this they have to walk far and because of that people throw their waste on roads or nearby ,so if you will make sure that people will get dustbins near around them, and regular pick up, result of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan will soon give good result.

  • GIRISH KULKARNI - 7 years ago

Modiji with lot of pain I say nothing has happened on Swatchha Bharat than awareness and some stories. But the fact every city is filled with Garbage. There is constructive action from Government other than blaming the public

  • GIRISH KULKARNI - 7 years ago

Modiji, I have some thoughts to improve industrial growth AND REDUCE UNEMPLOYMENT etc. I don’t want that to get hijacked. Pls let me know the best way to send it to you

  • puneet vyas_1 - 7 years ago

    Respected sir
I want to suggest all we need for success of swach bharat abhiyan is dustbins every 500m. I personally found many people aware abt program but didn’t find dustbins nearby thus they throw garbage on roads if there are dustbins available every 500metre we will find immediate results in swatch bharat mission and it will also reduce the work cleaners and sweepers.

Just wanted to make a suggestion of Plastic Buyback

If govt. can designate offices where people can submit plastic trash littered all around the places and get paid for it. It will encourage people to collect all the plastic bags, empties chips packets, bottles etc and submit to the designated place and get paid as per the weight. Eventually, it will also make people not throw these items in open but carry the same back home. These can also be then recycled and made into dustbins.

It is just the beginning. We have a long way to go to make Swacch India. These inspiring stories should not be limited to be posted on MyGov. These must be published on banners and posters across India. Situation in urban India is different where insufficient numbers of toilets have to deal with large numbers of persons creating unhygienic conditions. Maintaining the toilets is bigger task than actually making toilets.More corporate houses should come forward and adopt toilets and maintain

    • Divya Ravindran - 7 years ago

Totally Agree with you. These should be published as hoarding and should be showcased as video clips at city centers. Let the public view that, lets advertise India on our hoardings, let people have the feeling within them by repeatedly seeing the good.

  • Vinod V - 7 years ago

    good job. some comments.
    1. pls publish in hindi
    2. This book does not cover the motivation and PM’s call for action. It just narrowly covers some examples, which does not give justice to the mammoth work that has happened across the country.
e.g. swacch vidyalaya, varanasi etc. This also does not cover the work done by corporates like Airtel as a response to PM’s call for action
    3. Layout of the book is good with lots of pics unlike that of the adarsh gram yojaya booklet.
