Doubling Farmers Income moving fast towards realization

Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of Doubling Farmers Income by 2022 is moving fast towards realization and Krishi Unnati Mela 2018 is an ideal platform to help farmers achieve self-sufficiency.

Krishi Unnati Mela, an annual three-day event that witnesses congregation of lakhs of farmers from across the country, showcases latest technology in agriculture and allied services. Farmers are also apprised about the various Government initiatives. The event, through a 360 degree information dissemination mechanism like setting up of stalls and pavilions, organizing seminars and conferences, live demonstrations, cultural shows etc provides limitless opportunities to farmers to share, interact and learn about the various initiatives of the Government.

To encourage agriculture and to strengthen the rural livelihood, many schemes of agriculture and farmers’ welfare have been launched. Some such schemes are Soil Health Card, Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sichai Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna, national agriculture marketing, kisan suvidha mobile app., Rashtriya Gokul Mission, Blue Revolution, Sweet Revolution etc.

The event, which commences on March 16, 2018 at Mela Ground in Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Pusa, New Delhi, will have more than 600 stalls, displaying and providing direct access to latest technologies and Government initiatives. Theme Pavilions will showcase various schemes and initiatives in the agriculture and allied sector and also highlight start-up initiatives that are being implemented. Exclusive seed selling counters will facilitate purchase of quality seeds by farmers. Seminars and conferences will be organized to facilitate scientist-farmer interaction. There will be a Live Demo on various agriculture and allied services like Micro Irrigation, Waste water utilization, Conventional and modern rain fed farming technologies, Vertical farming, Integrated farming, Fruit Trees, poly houses, Protected Cultivation, Dairying, animal husbandry (Pashudhan) and fisheries, organic farming, farm machinery, drone operation etc.
