The Ram Mandir in Ayodhya stands as a testament to India’s unity and devotion, not just in its grandeur, but also in the tapestry of contributions woven across states and borders. PM Modi’s ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat‘ initiative resonates deeply in this story, showcasing how diverse regions have poured their hearts into crafting this sacred space.

Stones of Faith from Kashmir to Kanyakumari: The foundation of the temple itself reflects the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat’. Rajasthan’s Makrana marble forms the temple’s core while Karnataka’s Charmouthi sandstone is used for exquisite carvings of deities. The pink sandstone from Bansi Paharpur in Rajasthan is sourced for the entrance gate’s imposing figures.

Gifts of Devotion: The contributions extend far beyond building materials. Gujarat gifted the iconic 2100 kg Ashtadhatu bell, and a 700 kg chariot carrying a special ‘Nagada’, made by ‘All India Dabgar Samaj’. From Karnataka comes the precious black stone for the idol of Lord Ram. Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura offered intricately carved wooden doors and handcrafted fabrics.

Efforts of Artisans: The ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ spirit manifests in the collaborative efforts of artisans from across India. From skilled stonemasons of Tamil Nadu to woodcarvers of Odisha, each region’s heritage finds expression within the temple walls.

Faith Beyond Borders: Nepal sent 3,000 precious gifts, including silver shoes, ornaments, and clothes in a convoy of 30 vehicles. Two massive Shaligram stones from Gandaki river bank in Nepal have been used for construction of idols in the Temple.
