Smart city initiative became the topic of discussion between every citizen of karnal, the talks and discussion can be heard in every nook and corner of the city , a wave of change can be felt by everyone of them.

Today the citizens of karnal city were actively involved and participated in great number for the event organised by the karnal municipal corporation for an smart city initiative SMART CITY KARNAL or as the hymn was buzzing “SABSE AAGEY KARNAL” .The enthusiasm of the people for the activities such as MERA SANKALP and MERA SUJHAV was just amazing and they were very eager to understand the ideas about smart city and were very willingly ready to hear the positive changes it will bring for the betterment of the city in terms of cleanliness, segregation of waste, infrastructure and services, boost in the employment and economic sector, public transportation ,recreational open spaces and making their neighbourhoods safer and better places to live in, with the ultimate goal of improvising their QUALITY OF LIFE.

This event was rolled in all 20 wards simultaneously with the support team of all the NGO’s volunteering for this task on their one toe with full zest, collecting door to door suggestions and feedbacks from individual household at a grand scale. Respected Chief Minister of Haryana Shri Manohar Lal Khattar ji was the first person to give in his views and suggestion for this act of CITIZEN PARTICIPATION. Community participation is a sign that the residents of karnal are willing to give in their support and suggestions and are ready to bear a part of cost to see the change they want to see in their city in the future.

People of this city were seen very enthusiastic to pen down their views and suggestions under the initiation of MERA SUJHAV and pledged with their signatures under MERA SANKALP to take their responsibility for development of KARNAL AS SMART CITY in return of the government’s promise to gift them the best of the facilities and services. We could see that people came in large numbers with their visions and suggestions with a participation of more than 10,000 residents. The NGO which performed extraordinarily by collecting maximum number of suggestions was rewarded Rs Ten thousand as a token of gratitude from KMC.
