Medha Protsahan Yojana

The Department of Higher Education has invited applications from meritorious students to take training from institutions of Himachal Pradesh and outside states under the “Medha Protsahan Yojana” launched by the State Government for the academic session 2021-22, These applications have been invited from candidates taking coaching from institutions identified by Higher Education Department within the state or other states preparing for CLAT/ NEET/ IIT/ AIIMS/ AFMC/ NDA etc. and UPSC/ SSC/ Banking and Insurance, Railways etc. entrance exam.. Department informed that the selected students will be free to voluntarily attend training classes online or in person from any institute for the preparation of any competitive examination. For applying under this scheme, the department has set certain eligibility conditions for the students. Only permanent resident students of Himachal Pradesh can avail the benefit of the scheme.

Under ‘Medha Protsahan Yojana’, 350 candidates of Plus two-level and 150 candidates of graduation level will be selected based on merit. students of the general category studying in the plus two classes should have at least 75 percent marks in the plus one class, while SC / ST / OBC / IRDP / BPL. Category students should have at least 65 percent marks. The total income of the candidate’s family should not exceed 2.50 lakhs per annum. Financial assistance of a maximum of one lakh rupees will be provided to the selected students.

In the “Medha Protsahan Yojana”, 30 percent of seats will be reserved for girl students and the reservation in other seats will be as per the rules of the government. Interested and eligible students can submit their application form through the Deputy Director of Education Higher of the concerned district and students of the graduate-level directly submit the application in the office of Director of Education (Higher) by 24 July 2021.
