Radio Talk Show – Preparation of Smart City Proposal for Pasighat
Pasighat has been selected under 23 Fast track cities for the Smart Cities Mission, Government of India in which a revamped proposal is to be submitted before 15th April 2016.
In this regard, Pasighat Municipal Council organized a radio Talk show in the form of Group Discussion to elicit Citizen Participation& Engagement in the preparation of new Smart City Proposal. This Group Discussion was attended by:-
1) MLA, Pasighat as public representative
2) Municipal Executive Officer, Pasighat as representative of the organization
3) Smart City Mission officer as Subject Expert.
The participants discussed about the various prospects of making Pasighat a smart city. There were discussions and deliberations on the gaps identified by Govt. of India on previous proposal and way forward on rectifying these gaps. This talk show was organized at All India Radio headquarters, Pasighat.

As the city Pasighat is under the project to become a smart city. Our view including it is that if Pasighat is projected to become a smart city then first it had to solve the problem of electricity because in Pasighat there is very rare electricity has been provided, the city doesn’t even get some time light for two-three days. If the problem of electricity is solved then it would be the first step taking to become a smart city.
STREET LIGHT IN MANY AREA ARE NOT WORKING SMALL LANE ARE ALSO NOT CLEAN AS MANY PEOPLE ARE NOT KEEPING THEMSELVES CLEAN THROWING GARAGES ON ROAD FIRST THE PUBLIC SHOULD GET SOME TRAINING PROGRAM FROM YOUR END TO KEEP THEMSELVES CLEAN THE AREA & SOCIETY & MUST SET THE YOUTH PROGRAM THAT WE CAN HELP TO BRING FROM EVERY FAMILY MEMBER TO GROW SOME PLANTATION PROGRAM & SOME DO IT COMPULSORY FOR THIS.
Joint efforts by citizens as well as the government in being self responsible to keep the city clean, utilizing the resources like water and electricity in an efficient manner.
As per report Pasighat is having 3% of urban and 2% of rural unemployment, more than thousand of highly educated people are unemployed and most of Indian companies, government organization like defense lacks of manpower of their standard. Why? this is because of our education system. We need a change in the pattern.
Pasighat have many natural resources like Siang river, Sirki waterfall, siang is big river, if out officer will construct hydro power, the Pasighat people will never suffer of electricity. Sirki is very beautiful but no sanction for this beautiful place that’s why it’s look bad. I hope this smart city will bring sirki, Siang River etc for sanction.
University label which can further increase the attention of our national authority. And at the same time Each of Everyone of us should take oath that we are going to contribute something to this nation No matter where we go or from what field be belong.
They put their theoretical knowledge into practical things. Thus why they did it right. So, in our education system stress is high that’s what the problem to think freely, whenever that stress is goes on then our education system trained skilled manpower. Then we escape from shortage of skilled manpower.
As discussed over e governance, all the govt office and other important service provider should introduce e governance for the betterment of the people concern to them. One such area is PDS which dealt with poor people should maintain stock position/ disbursement of ration items/ ration card etc online.
Easier life is eminent, if e governance is introduced in Pasighat. It will be a flagship programme for the state. Thereafter other cities in the state will follow. At the time, citizen will witness development in all sectors.
In present state, under pan city proposal as discussed in the radio talk, e governance and street light should be given on top priority. Thereafter we may go for other sectors in future. It will greatly help citizen of Pasighat work easier.
