POSHAN Abhiyaan (National Nutrition Mission) – PM’s Overarching Scheme for Holistic Nourishment was launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on 8 March 2018. The programme strives to reduce the level of stunting, under-nutrition, low birth weight in children and anaemia in adolescent girls, pregnant women, lactating mothers as well as children. “Poshan-Maah” is celebrated during the month of September 2022. Jan Andolan and community mobilization are essential components for the effective implementation of Poshan Abhiyaan.
Ministry of Education, in collaboration with NCERT and MyGov, launched a quiz to encourage awareness about Food and Nutrition, healthy eating practices, a balanced diet, the importance of hand washing, and use of millet from 4 September 2022 to 31 December 2022.
We are gratified to announce that 1,40,501 participants successfully participated and received their participation certificates across the country.
