Result Announcement for Phase-I of Drug Discovery Hackathon 2020

DDH2020 is a joint initiative of AICTE, CSIR, Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell and supported by Office of Principal Scientific Advisor, Govt. of India, NIC and MyGov. Apex committee of DDH comprises of Prof. Vijay Raghavan, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India; Prof. Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE; Dr. Shekhar Mande, Director General, CSIR and Dr. Abhay Jere, Chief Innovation Officer, Ministry of Education Innovation Cell.

DDH2020 vision and mission is to establish ‘Open innovation Model’ for in silico drug discovery against Covid-19. The targets/tools/lead molecules identified through the process of DDH2020 will be further taken forward for synthesis followed by subsequent steps in routine drug discovery program.

Phase- I of DDH is complete. In phase-I, a total of 377 entries were received for the 29 problem statements (PS) in track 1, track 2, track 3. After scrutiny of these entries and a round of presentation, seven (07) entries have been selected for phase-II of Drug Discovery hackathon.

Phase-II of the hackathon involves further development of DDH project by the shortlisted teams, for which funding of projects will be done as per the recommendations of the DDH Organizing Committee.

In addition to above, a total of nine (09) entries were recommended by the committee for the award of prize money, which includes two (02) winning and seven (07) consolation. Winning and four (04) of the consolation entries includes ones recommended for phase-II and funding also. A winning prize of 1.00 lakh INR each and a consolation prize of 25,000 INR each will be awarded to the selected team.
