Swami Vivekananda Assam Youth Empowerment (SVAYEM) Yojana – A flagship programme for providing financial support to the youths of Assam
Swami Vivekananda Assam Youth Empowerment (SVAYEM) Yojana is a flagship programme for providing financial support to the youths of Assam to take up income generating activities in the manufacturing, trading and service sector. It will be implemented in all the districts of Assam including autonomous district councils.
Under this Yojana, a loan of Rs 1 lakh will be given for new entrepreneurs and Rs 2 lakh for existing entrepreneurs. The number of beneficiaries in a district will be selected in proportion to the population.
The central idea behind launching SVAYEM is to generate employment opportunities in rural as well as urban areas through setting up of new ventures as well as growing existing ventures. Initiatives are taken for providing financial assistance to micro and small business entities engaged in the manufacturing, trading and service sector. Moreover, under this scheme, financial assistance will be provided for enhancement of income level of traditional artisans ensuring sustainable growth.
