Tripura IT Start-up Scheme

Tripura IT Start-up scheme-2019 is an initiative of the Govt of Tripura to promote Ideas/Innovations of potential entrepreneurs in the state & recognising them as start-ups. It is also working towards innovation, development and improvement of products, process and services. It is working towards the scaling-up of ideas towards a feasible business model with a high potential of employment generation and wealth creation in the state. Till March 2022 total 10 Start-ups has been got recognized under this scheme.

1-What are the eligible criteria?

Ans- Area of coverage: The facilitation under the IT Start-up scheme is intended for only information technology-based start-ups, i.e., one that creates IT/ITeS technology-based service or product or uses technology for enhancing functionality or reach of an existing/new product or service.

Location: The start-up industries must be set up in Tripura.

Partner/Owners of Start-up: Minimum 50% of the Partners/Owners of Start-up must be graduated within 4 (four) years period or final year graduation student on the date of submission of the proposal.

Exclusion: A start-up in order to qualify as a start-up shall not have been formed by the demerger or reconstitution of a business already in existence.

2- How to apply for registration?

Ans- Visit the website https://startup.tripura.gov.in and go to the “Apply Online” tab. There you can complete the registration process.

3- What are the objectives of Tripura IT star-up scheme, 2019?

Ans– Make Tripura one of the top IT/ITeS start-up destinations in North East. Create an IT/ITeS environment and support eco-system. Strengthen start-up culture in the state. Encourage and inspire the youth of the State to consider entrepreneurship as a career choice. Creating IT/ITeS business incubators in collaboration with the private sector.

4-What are the Incentives available under Tripura IT Start-up Scheme?

Ans- Incentives like Patent filing cost reimbursement, Internet bandwidth, Power charge subsidy, Support for proof of concept (POC), Marketing development support, Assistance for Start-up funding, One time recruitment assistance, incubation facilities and many more.

5- What are the extra supports provide by start-up cell?

Ans- Start-Up cell helps new entrepreneur to understand the policy and provide facilities established to nurture young start-up firms during their initial period. It usually provides affordable space, shared offices, technical services, hands-on management training and marketing support.
