Winner Announcement for Indian language learning App Innovation Challenge

Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, mooted by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, 2015, celebrates India’s rich cultural diversity through mutual interaction and reciprocity between people of different States and UTs. To promote the cultural connect, a palpable need of diminishing the existing language barriers was felt.

Under #EkBharatShreshthaBharat, Ministry of Education and MyGov India announced an Indian Language Learning App Innovation Challenge to bring out a mobile application that would enable the people of India to not only learn basic sentences of everyday conversation in various languages via an app, but also opendoors for them to explore the vast and rich culture of their own country, uninhibited by any language barriers.

On behalf of the entire organising team, the jury members, and the stakeholders, we would like to extend our sincere regards to all the participants for their incredible response and for making the challenge a resounding success.

After careful evaluation, hearty debates, deliberations, and discussions, we are elated to announce that we have decided upon three top most promising app ideas and innovative thinkers that took part in the challenge.

The top 3 teams will be given 5 lakhs each to develop the final solution within 2 weeks as per the requirements of Department of Higher Education, M/o Education. After evaluation of the final solution, the best will get an additional Rs. 15 lakhs and the second best will get an additional Rs. 5 lakhs.
