Winner Announcement for PM-YUVA 3.0

The Ministry of Education, Department of Education in collaboration with MyGov launched PM-YUVA 3.0 – Prime Minister’s Scheme For Mentoring Young Authors, an Author Mentorship programme to train young and budding authors (below 30 years of age) in order to promote reading, writing and book culture in the country, and project India and Indian writings globally.
The All-India Contest was hosted on MyGov from 11th March 2025 to 10th June 2025 for the authors below 30 years. The three themes of PM-YUVA 3.0 were:
1) Contribution of Indian Diaspora in Nation Building
2) Indian Knowledge System
3) Makers of Modern India (1950-2025).
The contestants were asked to submit book proposals in about 10,000 words to judge their suitability to develop as a proper book under the Mentorship Scheme. A consolidated scholarship of Rs. 50,000 per month for a period of six months per author will be paid under the Mentorship Scheme. 10% royalty will also be paid by NBT on publication and sale of the books.
Under this Scheme, a total of 2,840 book proposals were received in all 22 Official Indian Languages and English. A Three-Level Evaluation process was put in place by National Book Trust, India, which included Primary review of the proposals; further evaluation by the members of language jury; and the final selection by the National Jury.
It may be recalled that the first mentorship scheme was launched on 31st May 2021. The theme was National Movement of India with focus on Unsung Heroes; little known facts about the Freedom Struggle; Role of various places in National Movement; Entries bringing out new perspectives related to political, cultural, economic, or science related aspects of national movement etc. The second edition of the scheme PM-YUVA 2.0 was successfully launched on 2 October 2022 with the theme ‘Democracy in India 2025’.
