The Ministry of Culture, as a part of the Republic Day celebrations, launched ‘Vande Bharatam Nritya Utsav’ commemorating 75 years of Independence under the banner of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The selected dancers get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform at the Republic Day celebrations at Kartavya Path, New Delhi in front of the nation.

The theme for this year being ‘Naari Shakti’ which encapsulates in itself The Energy of the NORTH The Elegance of the SOUTH The Beauty of the EAST The Passion of the WEST Showcasing the magnificence of India’s best.

Vande Bharatam Nritya Utsav – 2023

To amplify the greatest dance festival of India in terms of scale, quality and performance, an all India dance competition was organised, with entries starting as early as 15th October 2022.

The competition was held in three stages at 16 State/UT & 7 Zonal venues leading to the National finale. Seven zonal centres of the Ministry of culture conducted this extensive month-and-half long exercise where 980 contestants in the age group of 17-30 were selected to perform at the Grand Finale on 19th & 20th December, 2022 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi.

479 finalists including dancers for the first time from Kargil & Aryan Valley of Ladakh, Andaman and Nicobar Island, UT of Dadar and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu and large representation from North Eastern states of India, after a rigorous and relentless practice of more than 20 days will present an enthralling performance at the 74th Republic Day celebrations 2023, showcasing their talent in Classical, Folk/Tribal & Contemporary dance genres.
