Winner Announcement of NHRC’s Silver Jubilee Painting Competition
The National Human Rights Commission, NHRC India, in the run up to its Silver Jubilee Celebrations, organized Painting Competition, online through the “MyGov” portal in March, 2018 in order to seek people’s involvement and participation in the promotion and protection of human rights. A total of 526 entries were received till the last date on the 15th July, 2018 for the competition from people of varied age groups and from different parts of the country.
A jury headed by Mrs. Jyotika Kalra, Member, NHRC comprising Mr. Ambuj Sharma, Secretary-General; Mr. Dilip Kumar, JS(T&R); Mr. Jaimini Kumar Srivastava, DD(M&C); Mr. Indrajeet Kumar, AR (Law) and Ms. Rekha Shingari, an artist, shortlisted total 12 paintings which, after the approval of the Commission, were selected for first, second and third prize and 9 consolation prizes.
The award winning entries are as follows:
1. First Prize of Rs. 15000/- to Ms. Neha Agarwal, ( Kolkata,West Bengal )
2. Second Prize of Rs. 10000/- to Ms. Shikha Verma, ( Lakhimpur Kheri, U.P)
3. Third Prize of Rs. 5000/- to Mr. Soumya Ranjan Samal, (Jajpur, Orissa )
The winners of the consolation prizes of Rs. 2500/- each , without any specific order, are as follows:

3. Jagdeep Soni, (Lalitpur, U.P)
