24 Mar 2021

Every year, more than 1.50 lakhs people lose their lives in our country in road accidents and many more are debilitated. There is a need for the society at large to take cognizance of the issue and to join hands to make road safety a social movement. To give all the stakeholders an opportunity to take part in concerted action for the cause, National Road Safety Month was observed from 18th January 2021 to 17th February 2021. The theme of this year was, “Sadak Suraksha- Jeevan Raksha”.

Safer India Ideathon was organized under the Umbrella of National Road Safety Month 2021 by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and Indian Road Safety Campaign (IRSC) with the objective of inviting unique innovations that have the potential to change the scenario of road safety in India.

Everything begins with an idea. Ideas have molded the world, changed points of view, and have constrained humanity to address significant standards.

In the Ideathon, 2124 participants shared their thought-provoking ideas and took the competition to a different level altogether. How the young minds discussed their perspectives on this pivotal issue did create an impact on the whole event. Unfortunately, none of the ideas were recommended for Prizes by the Hon’ble Jury. The jury is of the opinion that an appreciation certificate shall be awarded to the Top 7 Finalists and prize money of INR 5,000 each will be awarded to 2 participants – Shri. Arjun Raj and Shri. Yash Jha.
