The Ministry of Science & Technology, the Ministry of Earth Sciences and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in association with Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA), have created a unique platform of India International Science Festivals which intends to inspire curiosity and make learning more rewarding. Launched in 2015, IISF is a celebration to promote Science and Technology and demonstrate how science could lead India towards a developed nation within a short span of time.
On the occasion of India International Science Festival 2019, Vigyan Prasar in collaboration with MyGov.in conducted an online science quiz from October 23, 2019 to November 8, 2019 with an aim to develop scientific temperament and encourage scientific thinking amongst the students, researchers, educators and general public of the nation. The quiz was open for all Indian citizens above 13 years of age.
The quiz received an overwhelming response, with more than 1,000 citizens participated across the country. 339 participants scored full marks in the quiz. Maximum participation was observed from the youth with an age group of 13-17 showing that the young generation embodies scientific temperament and awareness about the recent developments in science & technology in the country. The maximum participation was observed from the States of Uttar Pradesh.
The First 50 participants will be issued a certificate of appreciation by Vigyan Prasar and VP’s science publications as prizes.
