Ahmedabad Smart city
Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation hosted a talk-show on 5th October, 2015 to launch a city-wide comprehensive citizen engagement program at the HT Parekh Hall at Ahmedabad Management Association. Citizen engagement is an integral part of Ahmedabad’s smart city proposal. The engagement program was launched by the honorable Mayor and Municipal Commissioner of Ahmedabad. The launch event was followed by a discussion on the smart city challenge, preparation of the Smart City Proposal and modes of citizen engagement planned.
Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation is planning to undertake an extensive citizen engagement exercise with a series of extensive consultations with all stakeholders across various platforms. The citizen consultation is expected to include focus group discussions with various citizens and citizen groups including different sections like the industrial associations, workers, NGOs, welfare associations, etc. These discussions would be through face-to-face interactions, print media, TV, radio, and over various online platforms and social network.
Key Initiatives Launched:
- Citizen Survey launched – on AMC’s official website, facebook page and twitter page
- Three Contests launched – with total prize money of INR 1.65 lakhs (details available on website)
- Tagline Competition – Total prize money of more than INR 50,000
- Logo Design Competition – Total prizes of more than INR 50,000
- Essay Writing Competition – Total prizes of more than INR 60,000
- Online Discussions on MyGov.in, Facebook and Twitter
Speaking on this occasion, both Smt. Meenaxiben Patel and Smt. D. Thara and urged the people of Ahmedabad to actively participate in the engagement activities in huge numbers provide crucial inputs & feedback and work together, along with the Government, in making Ahmedabad a Smart City.
