An essay competition on the theme “My Panaji, Smart Panaji” saw an overwhelming response
An essay competition on the theme “My Panaji, Smart Panaji” saw an overwhelming response of 1522 submissions. Entries for the competition were invited through Mygov.in portal, on official email of Smart City Panaji and also in the form of hard copies at various Kiosks set up across the city.
The essays were invited to comprise of following Ideations:
- To describe a ‘Smart’ idea that you have seen or heard or would like to see replicated or implemented in Panaji. ‘Smart idea’ can help achieve more with less.
- Describe three ways in which Panaji can reduce the gap between rich and poor.
- List out five essential facilities provided by The Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) or other agencies that have the highest potential to make Panaji a Smart city.
Various Students participated from Schools & Colleges like Mushtifund Middle and High School, Kasturba Matoshri High School, Rosary High School, Bal Bharati High School, Dr. K.B Hedgewar High School, Shardha Mandir High School, Green Rosary High School, T.B. Cunha Govt HSS, Mary Immaculate High School, Don Bosco College, S.S. Dempo College and AimsHSS.
1494 essays were received in hard copies, 19 essays on mygov.in portal and 9 through email account.
The winners were announced on 6th November 2015 at an event held at Garcis de Orta Gardens in Panaji and received the prize at the hands of Commissioner Shri. Sanjit Rodrigues and Mayor Shri. Shubham, of the city of Panaji. Event was followed by a band performance.
