Announcement for the Closure of Inviting Songs & Documentary Films on Millets for International Year of Millets 2023

The U.N. General Assembly adopted a resolution, sponsored by India and supported by more than 70 countries, declaring 2023 as the International Year of Millets. The resolution is intended to increase public awareness on the health benefits of millets and their suitability for cultivation under tough conditions marked by climate change. Ministry of Agriculture & Famers Welfare is the nodal Ministry for International Year of Millet (IYoM)-2023 celebrations. In fact, India is now taking the lead in popularizing the theme in a strong manner at the international level through various campaigns.

In order to showcasing the importance of millets and creating awareness in the masses towards it, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare in collaboration with MyGov organised contests of Song and Short documentary film on the importance of millets.

Accordingly, contests of songs and short documentary film on millets was hosted on MyGov Platform from 1st April 2022 to 30th April, 2022.It was found that the relevant entries haven’t been received that fulfilled the evaluation criteria required for the award of a prize. It is therefore decided not to proceed further with the entries as received against the said contest through the MyGov platform.

We appreciate the efforts of all the participants and thank them for their overwhelming interest, enthusiasm, and keenness in participating in the above competition.
