Closure Announcement Blog for Adopt a Plant Contest for Ganga Vriksharopan Saptah 2017
On the occasion of Ganga Vriksharopan Saptah, the Namami Gange Program planted approximately 1 crore plants in five states along the course of river Ganga – Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand, West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand.
In this context, citizens were invited to contribute towards the plantation drive by recycling & reusing an old plastic bottle as a container for a new plant and uploading the pictures with hashtag #AdoptAPlant #NamamiGange.
The contest was hosted on the MyGov platform from July 25th, 2017 till July 31st, 2017 and received 84 entries.
The entries received were examined, and it was decided that none of the entries were suitable to be used for the purpose. Therefore, with sincere appreciation for the efforts and creativity showcased, it has been collectively decided not to proceed further with the entries received for the said competition.
