“When we talk about the Global Future, then human centric approach should be foremost” – PM Modi at the ‘UN Summit of the Future’

PM Shri Narendra Modi addressed the UN Summit of the Future on 23 September 2024 at the UN, New York, USA. The Summit is a premier gathering of global leaders, aimed at building a new international consensus for creating a better present and securing the future.

The theme of this year’s Summit was ‘Multilateral Solutions for a Better Tomorrow’ and saw the participation of many world leaders. It concluded with the adoption of A Pact for the Future and two annexes: the Global Digital Compact and A Declaration on Future Generations.

PM Modi’s Remarks at the Summit:

The Prime Minister spoke about India’s success in achieving sustainable development, highlighting how the country has lifted 250 million people out of poverty. He stressed that the success of humanity lies in collective strength, not on the battlefield, calling for global unity in addressing the challenges we face today.

Addressing growing threats such as terrorism and emerging conflicts in cyberspace, maritime, and space, he emphasized, “Global Action must match Global Ambition!” He further advocated for the formulation of rules and regulations for the safe and balanced use of technology, calling for global digital governance that respects national sovereignty and integrity.

The PM also highlighted the importance of Bharat’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), stating that it should serve as a bridge, not a barrier, and reaffirmed India’s readiness to share its DPI with the world for the global good. He concluded by reinforcing India’s commitment to the principle of “One Earth, One Family, One Future,” which continues to guide the nation’s approach to global cooperation.
