Shri Venkaiah Naidu was born to agriculturist parents in a village called Chavatapalem, in Andhra Pradesh’s Nellore district. Following his graduation from V.R College, Nellore, he did his Bachelors in Law from the Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. Since he was a university student, Shri Venkaiah Naidu exhibited profound enthusiasm towards the well-being of the common Indian, in particular, the farmers and the subjugated segment of the society. This resulted in his dynamic engagement in political and social endeavors at a fairly young age. His inspirations were the sacrifices and fair politics of the leaders who had struggled for India’s independence and also those who had courageously resisted the emergency. During his thirty years of public life, Shri Naidu has been in charge of different distinctive posts, inclusive of the following:

In both his capacities, as a student leader and as a political figure, Shri Naidu achieved fame as an outstanding public speaker, who was a robust champion of the farmers, rural masses and advocated upliftment of backward regions. He vehemently struggled against oppressive and corrupt powers, which posed a danger to the country’s democratic infrastructure. He was also put behind bars for a few months during the Emergency, because he fought to safeguard the basic rights and freedom of the people of India. In addition to being an ardent reader, he has also authored several articles on topics of public and political interest, democratic decentralization and other significant topics of national interest. As President of the opposition in Andhra Pradesh, Shri Naidu urged his faction to adopt the slogan ‘’Back to Villages’’.
