Operation Sindoor and the Information War – Stay Alert, Not Alarmed

India’s ongoing Operation Sindoor has been the centre of attention of every Indian. This is the time when unity must be matched with clarity. Browse securely and fact-check properly. While the spirit of patriotism runs high, it is equally important that our understanding of the situation is rooted in facts, not fear; in verified updates, not viral fabrications.
In today’s interconnected digital age, false narratives can travel faster than facts—amplifying fear, distorting truth, and undermining national morale. It is therefore imperative for citizens, media, and leaders alike to pause, verify, and act responsibly.
Operation Sindoor So Far – Truth over Trends
On the night of 6-7 May 2025, Indian Armed Forces carried out Operation Sindoor, hitting the terrorist infrastructure at 9 targeted sites in Pakistan & Pakistan-occupied J&K from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed. It was done in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack of 22 April 2025, where 25 Indians and 1 Nepali citizen were murdered.
In response, on the night of 7-8 May 2025, Pakistan attempted to engage a number of military targets in Northern and Western India. These were neutralised by India’s Integrated UAS Grid & Air Defence Systems.
In response, Indian Armed Forces targeted Air Defence Radars & systems at numerous locations in Pakistan & neutralised the Air Defence System at Lahore.
The Indian government has also banned streaming of Pakistan-origin content.

Beware of fake & misleading videos and content revolving around in the social media related to Operation Sindoor. Notorious groups are trying to take advantage of the tense situation & people’s sentiment to worsen the issue. Let not any such content misguide you. Think before resharing or forwarding any image, video or links.
Recognize Fake Content & Act Wisely
- Verify Resource- Look for the source of content. Check if there is any official logo of GoI or a trusted news source. Before resharing, try to verify the content from an expert.
- Find Evidence – Apply logic and find evidence supporting the content.
- Check for Manipulation – Check if the content is making you feel emotional enough to provoke action.
- Check for Bias – Remember half truth is a lie. So, check for bias and try finding the full story before commenting or resharing.
- Stay away from clickbait – Refrain from clicking on clickbait.
