Disaster Preparedness Training Session across Arunachal Pradesh

As part of the Government of Arunachal Pradesh’s 100 Days Action Plan for the Department of Disaster Management, the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), in collaboration with the 12th National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), conducted a series of disaster preparedness training sessions across the state. These programs are aimed at equipping local community volunteers with essential skills to effectively respond to disasters, fostering a more resilient and prepared society.

Tawang

The DDMA of Tawang organized a three-day training session for community volunteers at Zomkhang Hall, focusing on basic disaster response techniques. The training emphasized community capacity building, providing volunteers with the knowledge to respond efficiently during emergencies. Participants acquired skills in first aid, emergency protocols, and disaster management practices, all geared toward minimizing risks and enhancing community safety.

Lower Dibang Valley

In Lower Dibang Valley, a ten-day training program was organized in batches across Paglam, Dambuk, and Roing, engaging 100 community volunteers from ten villages in five administrative circles. Volunteers were trained on disaster preparedness, first aid, and emergency response, empowering them to take active roles in ensuring the safety and well-being of their communities in times of crisis.

West Siang

In West Siang, a three-day disaster management training session was held in Aalo, engaging 100 volunteers. The program, organized by the DDMA and the district administration, covered essential disaster response skills such as search and rescue, first aid, and coordination in emergencies. Participants were encouraged to become proactive contributors to local disaster management efforts.

Lohit

A three-day training program was conducted at Wakro Circle, Lohit district, as part of the 100 Days Action Plan 2024. Sixty-one volunteers from nearby villages participated in the session, which focused on disaster response, safety protocols, and practical emergency skills such as CPR, Basic Life Support (BLS), and water rescue techniques. The training provided hands-on experience and knowledge crucial for responding to environmental hazards and emergencies.
