Himachal Pradesh Cabinet Decisions 16 January, 2020
State government is working constantly to prepare various plans to strengthen the education system of Himachal and the state has one of the highest literacy rates in India. Himachal Pradesh is home to many educational institutions offering a wide variety of courses and in meeting the constitutional obligation to make primary education compulsory, Himachal has now become the first state in India to make elementary education accessible to every child in the state also the government is very keen to transform the state into an education hub.
The State Cabinet meeting was held today under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur . Below are the Major highlights of the meeting:
Hundreds of posts to be filled in Education:
Cabinet gave its approval to fill up 819 posts of various categories in Elementary Education Department which include 532 JBT, 35 Language Teachers, 133 Shastries, 104 TGT (Arts), 8 TGT (Non-Medical) and 7 TGT (Medical) on contract basis to ensure availability of teachers in educational institutions to facilitate the students.
Jobs in IPH:
It also approved the recruitment of 1578 para workers, which include 417 Para Pump Operators, 287 Para Fitters and 874 Multipurpose Workers for 394 new drinking water/ irrigation schemes of the Irrigation and Public Health Department through Departmental Para Worker Policy.
16 posts of JT in Horticulture:
The Cabinet put its seal to fill up 16 posts of Junior Technician in Horticulture Department on contract basis, out of which eight posts would be filled through direct recruitment and eight posts would be filled on batch-wise basis.
11 posts of Civil Judges through direct recruitment:
It also gave its approval to fill up 11 posts of Civil Judges through direct recruitment in the establishment of H.P. High Court.
The Cabinet decided to fill up six posts of Junior Office Assistant (IT) and seven posts of Peons in Deputy Commissioner Office Mandi.
The Cabinet gave its approval to fill up four posts of Record Keeper for newly opened Additional District and Session Judge, Nalagarh and Civil Courts, Banjar, Tissa and Shillai on regular basis.
It also decided to fill up three posts of drivers in Industries Department.
It also gave its nod to create and fill up four posts of Chowkidar-cum- Peon and four posts of Sweeper-cum-Peon in Alternative Disputes Resolution Centres at Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kinnaur at Reckong Peo and Sirmaur at Nahan.
Schools to be Upgraded and New Courses Introduced:
The Cabinet gave its approval to upgrade Government Primary School, Kunnu in Mandi district to Government Middle School alongwith creation of requisite posts.It also gave its nod to start science classes in Government Senior Secondary School, Basaban in Pachhad area of Sirmaur district along with the creation of requisite posts.
The Cabinet accorded its approval for amendment in policy for collection and removal of chil pine needles from forest areas in order to reduce fire hazards by encouraging stakeholders to work for removal of chil pine and encourage the industries to use chil pine needles as a fuel.
It accorded its consent to upgrade Government Primary School, Bailly-II to Middle School, Government Middle School, Dhar to Government High School and Government High School, Parihar to Government Senior Secondary School in Chamba district and Government High Schools, Gadhol Pirag and Sirmauri Mandir in Sirmaur district to Government Senior Secondary Schools alongwith creation and filling up of 25 posts of different categories to man these educational institutions.
Pilot project for State Reservoirs:
It gave its consent for a pilot project for modification in working of State Reservoirs to bring uniformity in the prices of fish within a reservoir, make fish of the State reservoirs a brand and to increase income and socio-economic status of the fishing community. The pilot project will be implemented for Govind Sagar.
The Cabinet gave its approval to declare Baisakhi Nalwar Mela Jhandutta and Nalwar Mela Sunhani in Bilaspur district as District level Fair to promote rich culture and tradition of the district.
