Mann ki Baatein – Karnal
Nagar Nigam Karnal recently organised a talk show “Mann ki Baatein”on the Radio Mantra and invited Dr J Ganeshan, Deputy Commissioner Karnal to discuss the smart city initiatives that are being organised throughout the city. The Deputy Commissioner took questions from the citizens of Karnal on the smart city program.
The opportunity to interact with him was organized through the radio station where the citizens could submit their questions regarding the smart city initiatives for the deputy commissioner to clarify. Dr. Ganeshan explained to the audience the purpose of the citizen engagement and why it is required to get selected into the top 20. He explained the initiatives by explaining various aspects of the smart city proposal. The citizens spoke to him on various aspects of the civic amenities and how it would change in the future. He addressed questions on critical issues like parking, women safety, waste management, hanging electric lines, public transport, and gave the possible ways of addressing these issues in detail in the smart city program. He stressed on the importance of citizen participation and their duties towards smart city Karnal, and the administration’s plans to address each of the issues to make it a fruitful exercise. He urged the citizens to participate in the upcoming initiatives and also appealed to the citizens to reach out to the administration through facebook and whatsapp, also urged them to take part on the mygov.in platform.

Nagar Nigam Karnal also organised a talk show “Mann ki Baatein”on the Radio Dhammal where Ms Sumedha Kataria the Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Karnal was there to discuss the smart city initiatives that are being organised throughout the city. The Commissioner took questions from the citizens of Karnal directly on the smart city program.
The radio show was organized through the radio station where the citizens could submit their questions regarding the smart city initiatives for the commissioner to clarify. Municipal commissioner explained to the audience the purpose of the citizen engagement and why it is required to get selected into the top 20. She addressed questions on critical issues like traffic issues, job opportunities for the youth, women safety, garbage management, land encroachment, public transport, increase in the number of road accidents, sewage issues in detail in the smart city program. She explained the pan city initiatives that will be undertaken to address various aspects of the citizen amenities, also stressed on the importance of citizen participation and their duties towards smart city Karnal, and the administration’s preparedness to address each of the issues that were raised by the citizens. She urged the citizens to participate in the upcoming initiatives and also appealed to the citizens to reach out to the administration through facebook and whatsapp, also urged them to take part on the mygov.in platform.

I suggest government of Haryana should think seriously about raising the standard of education in government schools, unless people get educated we can’t see big change in the country whatever we plan/do. Suggestion to improve the education standard is : Give the key management of the govt schools to private organization. Hiring of teachers, day to day running of school, school budget etc if these all should be managed by private organization then chances of corruption will be reduced to min.
i think we should take these steps to clean karnal
1.put dustbins on every 200m to 300m , this would be the biggest step to clean city .
2.people should be fine ,if he/she spitting in karnal .
these tow steps can change the whole city . i think gov. of haryana should take these steps .
