Participate in Making Dharamshala a Smart City
Municipal Corporation Dharamshala congratulates the citizens of Dharamshala for being selected in 23 fast track cities.
A special fast track has been provided to23 high scoring cities of states/UTs to upgrade their proposal which are not covered in first twenty cities and submitted, it before 15th April 2016. The proposal which will achieve the benchmark set by the wining cities after evaluation by the panel of experts will become eligible for funding on accelerated basis in 2016-17.
To achieve the benchmark set by the MoUD and wining cities, wide range of citizen consultations/ engagements is prerequisite of the Project.
All the residents of Dharamshala are intimated that the Draft of Smart City Proposal (Stage-2) has been prepared. In this regard Municipal Corporation Dharamshala appeals all the citizens to give their suggestions on Draft Dharamshala Smart City Proposal.

Developing blue and green corridor is also a very good project which will improve the quality of water and enhance the carrying capacity of city ecosystem of dharamshala
Multi modal Transport system will definitely reduce the ownership of private vehicles … and also improve the efficiency of public transport system
Congratulation to MC dharamshala… all the suggestions have been included in the Proposal … In implementation stage also the Proper Citizen Engagement required .. The Idea of Mini Himachal Theme park is wonderful , it will increase the average tourist stay.
The proposal has incorporated almost all the points which were suggested by the citizens in the city level workshops, ward level workshops, face to face interactions with the volunteers, phone in programmes, nukkad nataks and various other modes of interaction adopted by Municipal Corporation Dharamshala. Dharamshala will surely make it to the Smart Cities list this time.

The proposal has evolved from the inputs given by the Citizens.The draft proposal is again being shared and discussed with the residents of Dharamshala in the City level Workshops being held in these days. It is the proposal made by the citizens and for the citizens. I feel no other city would have done such an intensive and exhaustive exercise to involve the citizens in making the proposal the way Dharamshala has done.Best of luck team DHARAMSHALA.
The proposal has incorporated almost all the points discussed. The Proposal seems to be better than the previous. The Citizen consultation has come out good as the part of proposal and citizens suggestions are very well included in smart ways to make Dharamshala Smart City. I wish the Smart City Team, MC Dharamshala, and All the Other Stake Holders for there hard work in preparing the Smart City Proposal.
The government should create the slogan of " A Tourism-based City: A Good Place to Live, A Good Place to Visit," and start working to raise awareness of Dharamshala’s main attractions, establish a brand, and strengthen marketing efforts. Also the local governments should look at the potential of their tourism industries, improve the infrastructure, raise human resource capacity, and improve the local resources.
