Radio Talk Show – Preparation of Smart City Proposal for Pasighat
Pasighat has been selected under 23 Fast track cities for the Smart Cities Mission, Government of India in which a revamped proposal is to be submitted before 15th April 2016.
In this regard, Pasighat Municipal Council organized a radio Talk show in the form of Group Discussion to elicit Citizen Participation& Engagement in the preparation of new Smart City Proposal. This Group Discussion was attended by:-
1) MLA, Pasighat as public representative
2) Municipal Executive Officer, Pasighat as representative of the organization
3) Smart City Mission officer as Subject Expert.
The participants discussed about the various prospects of making Pasighat a smart city. There were discussions and deliberations on the gaps identified by Govt. of India on previous proposal and way forward on rectifying these gaps. This talk show was organized at All India Radio headquarters, Pasighat.

Pasighat is the place of monsoon so our first priority is to maintain the drainage system of the town because without proper maintain of drainage system of the town, it would be very dangerous for citizen of Pasighat and also looking the town bad, because when rainy session come most of the town was cover by the stained water and stained for long period, stained water means haven of mosquitoes.
Everybody should come forward and give valuable suggestion.
The Radio Talk show was very interesting and insightful. The use of local dialect will definitely help connect with the masses.
To bring E-Governance in a health department, patient tracking system should be installed and record on daily basis especially in General Hospital Pasighat as the flagship programme and thereafter to whole of the State to keep up health of the citizen. it will not be a complicated problem after introduction of based web application.
Pasighat preserving our rich cultural heritage of Folk and Cultural Music and Dances( Ponung). If we can conduct a cultural fest of local Arts, Music and Dances in 1 or more District of a state every week…Involving competition and financial rewards…and then winner gets promoted to a state level competition which will be held annually. Apart from rewards top performers get employment from Tourism Department and Industry.
The counsellor are doing the possibilities to aware the people about the smart city, and the co-operations of the public had been seen, sharing their own ideas to each other.
“On Tuesday morning, the corporation authorities ensured that the water was drained but there should be a permanent solution for it. The overflow is caused by a damaged drainage,” he said. It is regular scenario of Pasighat in the summer, but know the proposal of smart city was come these scenario is over, in 2015 the drainage system of many Pasighat area was developed and many are in other construction. It would be great sign for smart city proposal of Pasighat in selection list.
Road it is the first basic need of the smart city. Which will lead the city in top most, but lack of the urban infrastructure our road were in pathetic condition. We should provide good urban infrastructure for good road ways and as well as we should also develop the drainage system, to make the safety of the roads. By which rain water will not damage the roadways.
Every independent house needs to implement Water Harvesting System and big townships must have water harvesting as well Sewage Treatment Plant. Need to develop technology to get water converted from Dew and Fog as it is caused due to humidity existing in the Air. It will be extremely helpful for drought prone areas.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan one of the most example for cleaning Pasighat. Because in 2015 around 1000 above people were infected by Dengue in Pasighat. But in 2016 every Pasighat ward were aware of dengue, with this the municipal were organising the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in every corner of Psighat, like school, college, every wards in Pasighat, offices, markets etc.
