Clean, healthy, productive city where neighborhoods are revitalized, history is preserved, the natural environment is respected, and where all people can reach their full potential through education, commerce, culture, recreation and wellness.

Preparation of proposal for any city which is participating in this smart city contest should incorporate the basic needs & facilities of people of those areas. We need to do the SWOT survey before finalizing the proposal. Various area based models of development which you have considered, should be under stable to the various authorities at different level.

I am happy to see that city from North East have been chosen to convert into Smart city. I have felt that North east states haven’t progressed much as in other parts of country. People of Pasighat should come forward and tell us how they dream to be Smart city citizens. Fast Internet connectivity and better roads OR drainage system and transportation are the prime areas that I could think of. These will help to strengthen education and health sector much faster.

As far as my understanding is concerned, SMART CITY does not mean concrete jungle or High rise buildings in the city. It is about building a sustainable City with basic infrastructures provided to the citizens…it’s about inclusive growth. There should be room for urban poor in the form of affordable housing, employment generation etc. Emphasis should also be given to good governance and citizen’s consultation. In short a smart city would be a Green, Clean, Safe and Livable city.

Try to focus on basic problems which lead to other problems like – cleanliness, congestion, traffic, Govt. services. Do not try to solve the problems with a complex solution and follow the KISS (Keep It Simple). Cleanliness – install garbage bins, impose fine, and sensitize people. Congestion – for new developments, make wide roads first then build city around it. Focus on green parks, play areas, breathing spaces at intervals. Even websites – keep them simple and functional instead of jazzy.

Smart cities are incomplete without proper waste management and along with govt public have to understand and clean their city at their own. Charity begins from home.

Smart cities must be with full of tress. Without tress we will be simply wasting our hard earned money for AC due to raise in temperature, for buying water, for medical due to pollution etc. please plan the smart cities accordingly. We are creating this smart city and we create it however we want. Plan the cities so that we can live close with nature.

if we want to make Pasighat a smart city then we have to do at least some work which are: – planning roads according to the need of at least next 50 years, planning the new sectors and markets and parking areas according to the need of next 50 years, after a good and reliable network of roads we can provide better transport services.

until we are not developing the old Areas of city which are very congested and poorly developed till then we can’t make a city smart we need to replant some areas because in future these cities going to be more populated so we need to create much wider roads much reliable water supply system. We can’t make a city like New York but at least we should improve the lifestyle and planning of all the cities to the level of Pasighat.
