Winner Announcement Blog for Snap it Selfie with Nano Urea Farmers
The Department of Fertilizers under Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers in association with MyGov, organized a selfie contest on the theme “Snap it: Selfie with Nano Urea Farmers”. The aim of the quiz was to spread awareness and test citizens’ knowledge about the benefits, usage, and production of Nano urea.
Nano-urea sprays on different crops gave comparable yields to those obtained under fully recommended doses of fertilizer, with savings on top-dressed nitrogen. Nano Fertilizers hold great promise for application in plant nutrition because of their size-dependent qualities, high surface-to-volume ratio, and unique optical properties. Nano fertilizer releases plant nutrients in a controlled manner, contributing to higher nutrient use efficiency.
The submission deadline for this competition was 14th February, 2023. In response, 286 entries have been received from across different parts of India. Out of 286, 72 eligible entries were screened by a committee, and the final winners are as follows:
The Committee examined and evaluated the shortlisted entries (selected after the preliminary screening) based on parameters like Relevance and adherence to the theme, Image quality, overall appearance of photograph, etc. Accordingly, the following winners (Comment IDs) were finalized by the committee:
