Winner Announcement for 150 Years of IMD Activities
Established in 1875, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) is completed 150 years of service to the nation on 15th January 2025. IMD is among the earliest government departments created specifically for systematic observation, regular reporting and scientific forecasting of weather phenomena in the Indian subcontinent. In a way, the evolution of meteorology as a stream of modern physical science owes a lot to the contributions made by scientists and technologists who were associated with IMD during its glorious one hundred and fifty years of journey.
India Meteorological Department (IMD), Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India in collaboration with MyGov has organised various activities under IMD Campaign on the evolution of IMD to commemorate the remarkable journey of 150 years.
