Winner Announcement of Logo Design Contest for the Vigyan Prasar Network (VIPNET) of Science Clubs
Vigyan Prasar, an autonomous organization of the Department of Science and Technology, runs a network of more than 3,000 VIPNET Science clubs throughout the country.
A Logo Design Contest for the Vigyan Prasar Network (VIPNET) of Science Clubs was organized on the MyGov platform. The Contest was open to all citizens of India from February 20, 2020 to March 20, 2020.
Vigyan Prasar Network of Science club is a unique programme initiated in the year 1998 to weave all science clubs, societies, organizations to strengthen the popular science movement in the country. The network started working as extended arms of Vigyan Prasar for communicating science with far reaching implications for the development of society through skill up-gradation training, workshops and outreach activities. The presence of clubs can be marked throughout the Indian map. Moreover, these clubs are not just limited to schools but outside the school as well which encompasses residential colonies, villages, panchayats etc. The prime objective of the project is to create scientific awareness, generate curiosity, and develop scientific temper with the spirit of enquiry amongst Indian citizens. The VIPNET clubs acts as local activity centres of Vigyan Prasar for science communication to bring about the change at the remotest of places in India. These clubs are doing these activities as a voluntary service.
The Logo Design Contest attracted 1039 entries. As per the Contest rules, one winner wins a prize of Rs 25,000.
