Winner Announcement of Safer India Hackathon

There is a need for the society at large to take cognizance of the issue and to join hands to make road safety a social movement. To give all the stakeholders an opportunity to take part in concerted action for the cause, National Road Safety Month was observed from 18th January 2021 to 17th February 2021. The theme of this year was, “Sadak Suraksha- Jeevan Raksha”.

Safer India Hackathon was organized under the Umbrella of National Road Safety Month 2021 by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and Indian Road Safety Campaign (IRSC) to address one of the most pressing issues of current times- the current road safety scenario of our nation. The competition laid emphasis on suggesting ideas for Road safety-related issues which often becomes the reason behind deaths in Road Accidents and how to incorporate those ideas to curb those issues.

In total 2176 ideas were received in Round 1. Out of that few top teams were invited to make their submissions in round 2. Top 7 Teams presented their idea to the Hon’ble Jury. Unfortunately, none of the ideas were recommended for Prizes by the Hon’ble Jury. The jury is of the opinion that an appreciation certificate shall be awarded to the Top 7 Finalists and prize money of INR 5,000 each will be awarded to 3 teams:
