Winner Announcement of Test your Road Safety Knowledge Quiz
Every year, more than 1.50 lakhs people lose their lives in our country in road accidents and many more are debilitated. There is a need for the society at large to take cognizance of the issue and to join hands to make road safety a social movement. To give all the stakeholders an opportunity to take part in concerted action for the cause, National Road Safety Month was observed from 18th January 2021 to 17th February 2021. The theme of this year was, “Sadak Suraksha- Jeevan Raksha”.
A road safety quiz was organized under the Umbrella of National Road Safety Month 2021. This quiz was an ingenious initiative by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and Indian Road Safety Campaign (IRSC) solely developed for the purpose of creating awareness regarding Road accidents, Traffic laws, emergency services, new reforms and safety all across the country. The quiz is aimed at making the roads and streets in India safer by raising awareness about how to avoid accidents and injuries while on the road. Through this interactive quiz, participants had the opportunity to assess their knowledge about Roads and safety.
96,262 participants challenged themselves in the road safety quiz itself. Owing to the highly competitive nature of the contest, it was a bit hard to decide the winner. Akhilesh Kumar, a working professional was awarded the first position in the quiz competition. The overall event was quite enlightening and ended on a positive note.
