Draft Proposal for Smart City Varanasi
Varanasi Municipal Corporation has received overwhelming response from its citizen in smart city suggestions and ideas to improve their city under Smart City Challenge.
As part of citizen engagement & consultation process (for preparation of Smart City Proposal), Varanasi Municipal Corporation organized a wide range of activities – e.g. Ward level consultations, Stakeholders consultations, Essay writing competition, Logo Design Competition, Group based interaction/Suggestion meetings etc. starting from 1st October, 2015 to 30th November, 2015. Apart from this, other social media tools (like Facebook, Whatsapp, website etc.) were used to reach citizens.
As we are now approaching the final stage, we invite all citizens for their valued feedback and suggestions on the Draft Proposal before it is submitted to MoUD for its approval and due consideration.

Religious tourism: Varanasi or Kansi is religious place for Hindus, Jains and Budhists. Develop the religious circle for all the three. Not aware of any major Gurudwara there. Banarasi Silk Sarees are akin to city and is being developed. BHU Medical college is a popular one & majority of its students are abroad. Organise a NRI Doctors meet there as a part of ongoing celebrations of BHU.
special focus should on environment ,for this purpose we need to take few step more to ensure environment balance
