Winners of the National Contest on Social Innovation

22 Dec 2016

Ministry of External Affairs hosted the National Contest on Social Innovation 2016 on MyGov India. The objective of the Contest was to identify a pool of 25 social impact innovations that offer commercially viable solutions to the socio-economic problems of India. The contest was opened on 15 Nov 2016 and was supposed to close on 5 Dec 2016. However, because of the overwhelming response, the deadline was extended by 2 days to close on 7 Dec 2016. A total of 774 applications were received by the close of the date of the Contest. While our objective was to select a pool of 25 top social innovations, the following 20 social innovations (in no order of merit) were found to have met the selection criteria by the Screening Committee.
