New Education Policy Group

28 Jan 2015

The objective of this Group is to formulate a New Education Policy for the country through an inclusive, participatory and holistic approach. The National Policy on Education was framed in 1986 and modified in 1992. Since then several changes have taken place that calls for a revision of the Policy. The Government of India would like to bring out a National Education Policy to meet the changing dynamics of the population’s requirement with regards to quality education, innovation and research, aiming to make India a knowledge superpower by equipping its students with the necessary skills and knowledge and to eliminate the shortage of manpower in science, technology, academics and industry. For this purpose, 33 themes have been identified for discussions under this Group. The themes are divided separately for the School Education (13 themes) and Higher Education (20 themes) sectors.

@narendramodi @smritiirani my suggestion to new education policy is why not explore the idea of starting open book exams as there is so much burden on the students to learn so many things in a short span of time. It will totally curb the nuisance of coping or excelling with voluntary or involuntary help and will be a fair deal for those who study hard. In spite of this method being in place for some of the International Vocational training exams, many students still fail to grasp the opportunity

There should be a course "DIPLOMA IN MEDICINE =3 YRS + 12 MONTH FULL TIME INTERNSHIP "
After passing these General Practitioner can take care of Rural and Remote health care system.
MBBS /MD people are become businessmen so volunteering activities should be made compulsary for all courses.

The Healthcare sector will improve if more person trained in "DIPLOMA IN MEDICINE =3 YRS + 12 MONTH FULL TIME INTERNSHIP

Madam, Please change this CCE evaluation, it is making the students, parents as well as the teachers lethargic. Also please introduce marking system right from grade1 so that parents are aware of the progress of the child. One more request, please try to introduce some information of states in the country, eg one state in one standard so that children are aware and informed about their respective culture, history and language instead of the foreign countries which they are studying now. Thanks

Librarians are often called as teacher of teachers and walking encyclopedia,Lot of disparities is done by the UGC with reference to Librarians. Some universities and State Governments never consider Librarians as Teachers and deprive the service conditions with reference to Age of Retirement, Promotion , Study leave etc. THIS DISPARITY CAN BE REMOVED BY RENAMING THE NOMINCLATURE FROM LIBRARIAN TO ASST.PROFESSOR, ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR. implement this uniformly to all states.
