Poor infrastructure is actually a blessing in disguise as there will be no collateral damages. new projects can implemented smoothly.
Traditional festivals and fares of rich culture values can be showcased as major attractions for tourism Industry. Pasighat is home to many ethnic groups having a pan Indian presence.
Traditional mode of governance is robust in the area and in sync with mainstream governance. This will certainly contribute to smooth transition from a normal city to smart city in future.
Lack of community/ public toilets have been stated in the SWOT as a weakness. However it must be mentioned that pasighat is free from open defecation. And the city is limited in size as well as population. Need for those facilities may only come up at the altar stages when greater development takes place and people converge for economic activities from different places.
Natural scenic spots can be beautiful and made accessible to tourist as well as locals keeping into consideration hygiene and aesthetics of the area. Participation of locals have to be encouraged to make it more unique in terms of both location as well as people.
Building national level multi – specialty health care institution. People of Pasighat does not have this facility. I seen since childhood, many people lost their life on the way to Dibrugadh for treatment, which takes almost a day to reach there for treatment. Here we need a multi specialty health care institution. More than 60 thousands of people are dependent on General Hospital Pasighat, which does not have multi – specialty equipment.
Some of our basic needs (in present scenario):
a. Green City
b. E-governance
c. Clean Environment
d. Crime free city
e. Drainage System.
f. Public Transportation system
g. Stop corruption
h. Street Lights all around the city
i. Stop Hunting by stopping issue of Arm Licence
j. Better use of Panchayati Raj
Why we are not provided with public transport. Each one of us has to own a vehicle to go to market area. How much we are polluting our environment? May be unknowingly, but we are doing so. In another 10 years this beautiful city will become a Hell. Stop Pollution, Save our Mother Land.
With e-governance in the proposal of Smart City, What I am hoping for is clean, speedy, corruption free governance. I dream of my city, my country corruption free.
E-governance will surely bring down the corruption. Corruption which is so much rooted in our system that it will take something to get abolished. Hope this will be implemented at the very beginning of the Smart City Project.
